The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Part-Time, Grant-Funded Workplace Health Coordinator. This position under the supervision of the Senior Community Health Director in St. Petersburg, FL. The Workplace Health Coordinator will be responsible for building the culture of health within organizations throughout the Greater Southeast Affiliate by sharing American Heart Association corporate wellness programs. Position will collaborate closely with and will serve as an internal resource to field staff in market throughout the affiliate on AHA’s corporate health initiatives.

Responsibilities will include:

Deliver American Heart Association workplace health initiatives throughout Greater Southeast Affiliate . Complete reports on progress to meet affiliate and national requirements.

  • Drive corporate engagement strategies with key partners to create a culture of health.

  • Recruit companies to participate in AHA’s workplace wellness programs.

  • Telephone manage companies through the online process.

  • Provide quality customer service to external partners and support efforts to grow health engagement in key organizations.

  • Collaborate with field staff in markets across the affiliate to identify partners and support existing efforts.

  • Serve as internal resource for field staff in regards to workplace health programs, including training, coaching and assisting with implementation as needed.

  • Coordinate with field staff on communication and outreach to key partners.

  • Build positive strategic relationships with key external partners to support health and revenue efforts.

  • Successful track record of meeting and exceeding goals.

  • Demonstrated negotiation and motivational skills.

  • Ability to close telephone partnerships for health policy changes with key partners and networks.

  • Strong volunteer management skills of high-level professionals, demonstrated ability to provide quality customer service and motivation to business and social leaders.

  • Excellent planning, organizational and follow-up skills including the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.

  • Willingness to tele-recruit and tele-manage volunteers.

  • Demonstrated professional and mature interaction with other staff and leadership volunteers, sponsors, donors and others to engage them toward the achievement of goals.

  • Willingness to collaborate with internal and external partners to achieve shared goals.

  • Strong computer skills, proficient with MS Office suite.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrate ability to work with minimal supervision.


  1. Bachelor degree in related discipline or equivalent experience;

  2. Minimum three years’ experience in the implementation of corporate and community-based programs/initiatives and/or community mobilization;

  3. Sales Experience is a plus.
