Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Market Development Director, in partnership with the local SVP/Executive Director, will be to drive accelerated mission and revenue growth to the market.

Qualifications

Essential Job Duties

Ensure that affiliates financial goals are achieved and strategic priorities are aligned with those of the association.

Oversee an annual strategic evaluation and planning processes for markets.

Help markets focus on the highest impact priorities in order to drive goal achievement, while effectively balancing a strategic (big picture) focus with day-to-day execution.

Work with internal and external partners to develop strategies to significantly increase AHA’s community impact and community change.

Work with affiliate and market leaders to develop a highly engaged, high performing staff team committed to understanding and achieving the health, revenue and volunteerism goals of the association.

Monitor and analyze external and internal trends and develop benchmarks, best practices, priorities and focus areas for top markets.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or Advertising.

Seven to ten years of fundraising experience in volunteer and staff management, managing a major/market territory and strategic planning.

Executive Director or Senior Vice President level of staff management experience
