Responsible for creating a strategic consumer marketing plan to extend and expand the donor base which includes improving the user experience for AHA fundraising events and community activities. Responsible for leveraging analysis, technology, and innovative communication platforms to advance donor responsiveness and expand market reach. Also, responsible for overseeing Direct Response, Digital Strategy and marketing for community efforts.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Develops strategy for penetrating established donor segments and creates market penetration plan to increase donor touch-points.

  • Leverages data analytics and insight to refine marketing and fundraising messages. Develops and leads digital and direct fundraising strategy, marketing and operations.

  • Provides guidance and garners cross-departmental support in technology, communications, and customized digital resources. Advances innovative methodologies that “speak” to donors while aligning with AHA’s mission and goals.

  • Explores different acquisition channels, from pay per click campaigns to event management. Integrates marketing efforts for all digital, direct response, and peer-to-peer fundraising to provide consistent branding and customized engagement tactics.

  • Coordinates and manages content and information sharing among internal teams and external customers.

  • Leads team in developing engaging content that converts target customers to champion donors.

  • Develops and enriches shared donor influence.

  • Builds metrics and measures to provide real-time data on donor response and involvement.

  • Activates data analytics to modify and improve campaign responses.


  • Ten (10) years of experience developing marketing plans, consumer response systems, and digital/interactive customer relationships

  • Eight (8) years of experience in non-profit environment and fundraising/development

  • Ability to create dynamic and engaging marketing communications Eight (8) years of experience developing strategy and multi-faceted interaction with donors

  • Leadership experience in developing and coaching a successful team

  • Experience in marketing software solutions
