American Heart Association Development Specialist, Youth Market in Denver, Colorado

Responsibilities

The American Heart Association (AHA) has a tremendous opportunity for an Administrative Specialist for Youth Fundraising (Youth Market Specialist) based in Denver, CO . You will support the fundraising team in the education sector achieve their revenue goal through contacting select schools; pulling weekly reports to support fundraising at these schools; conducting internet research to ensure accurate information exists for each school’s superintendent and staff as well as any survivor stories that may exist at these schools.

Revenue Generation

  • Spend approximately one day per week emailing and calling schools to ensure they have the materials and support they need to get them online and to answer any questions.

  • Call on schools late in the year to follow up on overdue donations.

Reporting

  • Begin each week pulling data and reports from various systems and use this information to support field staff in getting more schools to use online giving resources.

  • Pull additional reports detailing all fundraising field staff in your group for the purpose of showing their relative progress on fundraising goals. Must be well versed in Microsoft Suite of programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & OneNote

Online Giving

  • Contact the highest fundraising schools to help them in their efforts to use online giving by providing support and guidance.

Support Superintendent Cultivation

  • Spend several days each quarter conducting research on school websites to ensure accurate information exists for superintendents and their support staff. This information is sent to field staff to support their cultivation efforts.

Field Support

  • Should the team need help delivering materials to schools, or helping kick off schools by presenting to the students and staff at an all school assembly. Must be comfortable presenting in front of large crowds.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years' of related work experience required. High school diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high volume work environment.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to function independently with minimal supervision.

  • Must pass background check.

  • Ability to lift at least 20 lbs from the ground to waist levelwith or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office usedfor word processing, email, presentations, and spreadsheets.

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Non-smoking environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly/Salary:

Salary minimum $22.50 to $29.20 per hour.

Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply.

AHA reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Any difference between actual compensation and the posted range will be based on factors other than race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy) or national origin.

Benefit Plans:

Employees scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week are eligible to participate in the medical, dental, and vision plans the first of the month following 30 days of service. AHA subsidizes the medical and dental cost to ensure benefits are affordable. Eligible dependents under AHA’s group benefit plans include legal spouse, domestic partner, children under the age of 26 or who are disabled. AHA offers additional benefits like an EAP, telehealth benefit for general medical and behavioral health, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, and disability.

Retirement Plans: AHA retirement plans offer employees a way to start saving after their first paycheck. The retirement plans provide employer contributions after two years of service. If you have previous 501(c)(3) non-profit experience, within the last 5 years, at a national health agency, an institution of higher learning or a medical institution, that experience may count towards the two-year waiting period. Employees are 100% vested in employee and employer contributions.

Paid Days Off: Regular full-time and part-time employees earn Paid Time Off (PTO) based on years of service. PTO begins accruing on date of hire. Full time employees receive one paid Community Service time off day per year and are encouraged to participate in projects, programs and organizations which contribute to the health and vitality of their communities. AHA also offers 12 paid holidays per year.

Leaves of Absence: AHA offers both Short Term and Long Term Disability benefits which replace earnings if you are unable to work due to a non-work-related illness or injury. Employees are eligible for Short Term Disability after 90 days of service and are eligible for Long Term Disability after being disabled for 90 days or more. Eligible employees can take up to 12 weeks off of work for a qualified leave of absence under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), intermittent FMLA leaves and leave as an accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act as Amended (ADAAA.
