This position can be home-based.

Responsibilities

This individual will drive health equity and organization-wide inclusion programs and strategies. The Director serves as a health equity and inclusion subject matter expert, collaborator, and storyteller, cultivating relationships internally and externally with a focus on organizational, fundraising, and health equity mission impact. The Director manages the ongoing operations, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of organizational inclusion and staff leadership development and inclusion programs, including employee resource groups and mentorship programs, ensuring programs align with mission goals.

  • Drives health equity strategies by creating and managing programs, embedding equity into existing and new organization-wide programs, priorities, and campaigns.

  • Cultivates existing and new external partnerships in collaboration with leadership and other departments, focusing on revenue generation and health equity impact.

  • In collaboration with departmental EVP/SVP leadership and other departments, provides subject matter expertise and leads storytelling and reporting efforts to showcase mission, health equity impact, and learning.

  • Leads the development, implementation, integration and evaluation of strategies and action plans in support of the Association’s commitment for evolving its culture including hiring, volunteerism, supplier diversity and talent development (e.g. Employee Resource Groups. Mentoring). Develops plans that foster a workplace aligned with the organization’s mission, values, goals, business practices and objectives to include the development of future leaders, increased employee engagement, and expanded marketplace impact.

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, non-profit, or related field from an accredited university.

  • At least eight (8) years of experience in project/program development and management, non-profit, public health, health equity, inclusion, education, marketing, public relations, and/or community programs, including working with community health issues.

  • Knowledge of voluntary health organizations or nonprofit organizations, including non-profit volunteer recruitment and management.

  • Demonstrated knowledge in public health, education, marketing, public relations and/or community programs.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of social determinants of health issues with the ability to interact across multiple acculturation levels and socio-economic groups.

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking skills to successfully develop and implement new and existing programs.

  • Demonstrated ability to simultaneously lead and manage multiple, large and complex projects, events, and programs.

  • Mature and polished written and verbal communication, including negotiation, interpersonal, and ability to effectively communicate policies, guidelines, and strategic direction internally and externally.

  • Ability to conduct meetings with internal and external clients, including interacting with external partners/sponsors representing the public.

  • Demonstrated ability to productively participate in a multi-disciplinary team environment working towards common goals with internal and external clients.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising, maintaining relationships at corporate and community levels, and meeting/exceeding revenue generation goals.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams with the ability to translate data to end-user reporting tools.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, presentation, and oral communication skills.

  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated aptitude to utilize trend analysis, research, and other sources to turn data and information into actionable information.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment. Excellent at working against deadlines.

  • Ability to connect with all levels of Association staff.

  • Ability to travel up to 25%, including overnight stays.

Preferred skills:

  • CHES certification and bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred.

  • Previous experience managing organizational employee programs, such as employee resource groups, mentorship programs, and/or other organizational inclusion, learning, and leadership development programs preferred.
