The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Get With The Guidelines (GWTG) Program Manager, Quality Health based out of our National Center office! This position can be home based.
The GWTG Program Manager will execute strategies and activities defined by the Senior GWTG Program Manager that are necessary to the promotion, improvement, growth, and expansion of multiple GWTG programs, inclusive of pre-hospital, inpatient, and acute post-discharge phases of the care continuum. The Program Manager will be critical in developing a vision and associated strategic plan for the GWTG quality programs in collaboration with clinician volunteers, the Senior Program Manager, and the Director of Program Implementation. The incumbent will coordinate day to day components of program management which include, but are not limited to: a) facilitating the coordination of the GWTG System of Care Work Groups and other programs, b) providing support to other volunteer advisory working groups, c) collaborating with external and internal business partners as necessary and appropriate to program development (marketing, research, operations, HIT, Hospital Accreditation, other GWTG programs, etc.), d) quality field staff support and engagement, and e) developing and coordinating training plans for both the Quality Improvement field staff and hospital-based health professionals as the end users of GWTG. Additional responsibilities include coordinating meeting schedules, developing agendas and supporting materials, updating website content, managing program tools and resources, and serving as first point of contact for external inquiries.

Responsibilities
Develop, expand, and improve GWTG programs and GWTG program activities
Refine programs to include essential elements to systems of care implementation
Engage with GWTG Quality field staff and be established as subject matter expert when actively representing GWTG on internal multidisciplinary projects
Triage GWTG questions from field staff
Evaluate and communicate about assigned project action items, deadlines, and deliverables, and work with other departments to meet department goals
Collaborate, facilitate, and engage GWTG clinician volunteers to identify, establish, and measure the GWTG strategic plans and vision against identified goals
Assist with webinar planning and execution
Promote GWTG through external conferences and meetings
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Three (3) – eight (8) years relevant experience
Experience in managing projects and leading teams: ability to track and monitor projects and relationships
Experience communicating about and managing quality improvement programs and activities
Ability to approach complex and challenging tasks with proactive, problem-solving attitude
Knowledge of healthcare systems, market research, and analysis
Willing to take initiative and ability to work independently to prioritize work assignments and meet deadlines
Strong desire to further the American Heart Association’s mission of improving the lives of all patients with cardiovascular disease and stroke
Ability to travel up to 10% local and overnight stay
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of registry development and data analysis
Proficient with Microsoft Office products and related applications
Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant data and use interpretations in the development of business plans
Clinical experience in a pre-hospital and/or hospital setting
Five (5) – eight (8) years relevant experience
Compensation & Benefits
The expected pay range will be $60,000 to $80,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply.
