The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Program Manager, Special Projects .

Our purpose is to be the trusted global leader in convening scientific meetings and experiences for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular innovation and knowledge dissemination. The Program Manager, Special Projects, will be responsible for the development and management of new and existing revenue-generating products and programs. This role will also oversee the strategic planning, execution, and commercial success of live and recorded scientific meeting and educational content, such as AHAtv, Scientific Sessions OnDemand (SSOD), and Stroke OnDemand (SOD) virtual elements, ensuring a high-quality experience for participants and sponsors. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong background in new product development, digital content management, program management, and revenue generation.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and implement new products and programs that drive revenue growth for the American Heart Association’s Office of Science Operations (OSO.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to innovate and expand the Association's portfolio of revenue-generating educational and event-related offerings like AHAtv, SSOD, and SOD.

  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for new revenue streams.

  • Develop and manage budgets for new products and programs, ensuring financial goals are met or exceeded.

  • Oversee the planning, production, and delivery of revenue generating products like AHAtv, SSOD, and SOD virtual platforms.

  • Manage relationships with vendors, sponsors, and content creators to ensure high-quality content and user experience.

  • Coordinate with marketing and communications teams to promote virtual elements and drive engagement.

  • Monitor and analyze the performance of virtual platforms, implementing improvements as needed.

  • Make recommendations for improvement and revenue expansion.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all special projects, providing regular updates to senior leadership.

  • Build and maintain relationships with sponsors, exhibitors, and other key stakeholders to maximize revenue opportunities.

  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets for all assigned projects.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve project goals, providing clear direction and guidance.

  • Prepare regular reports on the performance of new products, programs, and virtual platforms.

  • Conduct post-event analysis to measure success and identify areas for improvement.

  • Utilize data and insights to inform future product development and revenue strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field

  • Minimum of 3 year of experience in project management, product development, or digital content management, preferably in a non-profit or healthcare environment. (5 Years preferred)

  • Proven track record of developing and managing revenue-generating programs.

  • Prior experience in Events is a plus.

  • Proficiency in digital content management systems and virtual event platforms.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
